Fresca!
On May 30th we arrived at the shelter to find a frightened rabbit boxed up and left at our front door. Sadly, this is not an uncommon occurrence. Affectionately named Fresca, this sweet girl settled in rather quickly to her new accommodations. Fresca is an American Rabbit and we estimate her to be approx. 2.5 years. She has been spayed since coming into our care, and recently spent time in a foster home as an opportunity to better know her personality. Here are some notes from Fresca’s foster mom:

Cappuccino, Macchiato, Latte, Espresso & Frappe are 5-month old kittens that came into the care of HSHPE in need of medical attention and a safe space to grow. They are now healthy and ready for their next adventure of finding their furever homes.
Cappuccino is a dilute tortoiseshell female. Like all kittens, she loves to play and chase toys. She enjoys having another feline friend for playtime and naptime. She loves food. Cappuccino would do great with children and cat-savvy dogs.

Relish!
This week our featured pet is Relish! He has been with us since May 30 2021. The reason for his prolonged stay is the condition in which he arrived. Relish was badly injured, we believe he had been attacked by an animal. He had some puncture wounds on his small fragile body and it appeared as though he had a broken front leg. He was taken to a veterinary partner for an exam, and was scheduled for a front leg amputation the following day. Animals are very resilient and Relish is no exception.
