Happy Tails 🐶
Masey was with us for just over a month. She was looking for the right furever home and once she found it, she settled in perfectly within hours of arriving. She has made herself right at home and looks like she is quite comfortable with her new living arrangements.
January 2020 Stats
In January we had 117 animals come into our care, 83 of those were cats, 30 dogs and 4 rabbits. We adopted out 66 cats, 13 dogs and 5 other animals. We returned 1 cat and 6 dogs to their owners. We also transferred out 15 animals to other like minded shelters and rescue organizations. The rest of the animals will stay with us until they find their furever home.
Get Involved! Become a QHS Volunteer & start helping animals in the Quinte Region!
Our Volunteer program is evolving and we’re excited to now offer Volunteer Orientation to all Volunteers- new and past! This training gives our Volunteers a clear guideline as to what is expected of them and, ensures proper protocol is used while handling the animals. Together we will ensure the animals at the Quinte Humane Society, are kept happy, and healthy while they patiently wait for their fur-ever families!
Volunteer opportunities offered at the QHS include: Cat Care/ Dog Care/ Small Animal Care/ Dog Walking/ Foster Care/ Special Event and BINGO Volunteers. There are many ways in which Volunteers can engage with the animals in our care, and if you’re someone that wants to help but can’t work directly with the animals, you can always show your support by Volunteering to assist with the Special Events we host throughout the year. QHS is a non-profit charity, which means we receive no government funding, and rely on the success of our events, paired with the generosity of people in our community to maintain our role in helping stray, abandoned, injured and abused animals in the Quinte Region!
