Quinte Humane Society Strategic Directions, 2018 – 2021
Quinte Humane Society is a registered charity that promotes the prevention of cruelty to animals that are neglected, abused, exploited, stray or homeless. We provide humane treatment for animals that are in need. As an affiliate of the OSPCA, we work to improve conditions for animals while maintaining a balanced sensitivity toward both animal and human needs. This mission is at the core of each of our strategic directions.
1. Delivering Compassionate and Innovative Animal Care
Quinte Humane Society is committed to providing high quality services for animals, while exploring opportunities for innovative animal care that will be fully realized in the new facility. We will move ahead with purpose and assume a leadership role in the sector and region.
2. Strengthening Organizational Development and Workplace Culture
A healthy and sustainable organization has in place strong leadership, efficient systems and processes, and a supportive, collaborative environment. Quinte Humane Society recognizes the importance of investing in staff and leadership to optimize its capacity to sustain high quality programming and service delivery.
3. Investing in Capital Infrastructure
As Quinte Humane Society moves toward building a new facility, it is important, now more than ever, to focus on the stewardship of resources and relationships with donors. Quinte Humane Society aims to create an environment where the entire community (donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners) have compelling opportunities to invest in the organization and its future facility in authentic and meaningful ways.
4. Engaging Volunteers
Growing an engaged, knowledgeable volunteer base is a key component of Quinte Humane Society’s ability to achieve its mission, strengthen its organizational capacity, and meet the needs of the communities it serves.
5. Sharing Quinte Humane Society’s Story
Strengthening our internal and external communications is a priority. We recognize that we have an opportunity to raise our organization’s profile by keeping the community informed of, and engaged with, the important work we are doing, and to raise public awareness of issues surrounding animal care.
