Bernice is named after her mom, who was rescued by us from the North through a cat transfer when we had a winter lull. Rejected at birth by her mom, she was raised in foster care from day one, and was hand fed. She is an independent and feisty little girl, who gets a little too excited and protective over her food – food is everything to her! She is still a sweet wee baby, however would do better in an only pet home for now unless you can feed separately, with no young children. Sometimes when kittens are hand raised from birth they simply see your hand since you had to bottle feed, as competition for food. Allowing her space to eat her fill for a while may help her overcome her basic instinct to protect her food, as she comes to realize it’s all hers! She’s had a rough start but also lots of love from her foster home, and is now ready to make her grand entrance into a new family!
If you would like to meet Bernice, please call us at 613-968-4673 and arrangements will be made with her foster mom to bring her in.
