Rusty is an 8-year-old neutered male. He is mostly white with various red tabby patches. Rusty was transferred to us and upon intake we realized there was a problem with his right hind leg. He wasn’t putting any weight on it so he was sent for x-rays. They showed that the damage to his leg was beyond repair and he would need an amputation. He has since had his surgery and is learning to live his life as a tripod. He gets around quite well and runs up to you when you enter the room. He is a very loving boy who is always looking for attention. He loves toys, one in particular that he likes here is a FroliCat Fox Den. He loved it from the minute he saw it. Rusty is currently in a room with a few other loose cats, all of which are fixed older males. He likes his feline friends to be relaxed and lower energy. He seems to get along just fine with them, although he can be a bit bossy at times, especially if food is involved. Rusty can’t wait to find his new furever home where he can enjoy time spent with his people, naps on a comfy couch, and a window where he can sit and watch the world. If you are interested in adopting Rusty and would like to meet him, please visit us at the shelter, 527 Avonlough Road, Belleville. Rusty is being housed in a staff only area, so only serious adopters will be able to meet him. Please ask the front desk staff for an application if interested and they can take you to meet this handsome, quirky fella.
